MOORE, Okla. - On Tuesday, September 12, Randall's Volleyball program received their first ever number 1 ranking in the NCCAA Volleyball DII national poll. Later that night, NAIA Division I opponent from down the road in Oklahoma City, Mid-America Christian University (MACU), came to Moore to face the newly top ranked Saints. Randall jumped all over the Evangels early, winning the first two sets 25-21 and 25-20. Despite taking a 12-11 lead in the third set, Randall wasn't able to hold on, as MACU came back to win 25-20 in the third. The Evangels carried that momentum into the fourth set, taking a 20-12 lead. However, Randall fought to a tie at 24 all, ultimately falling 24-26. The Saints momentum from their almost completed comeback carried over to the fifth set, and Randall was able to take a big early lead and hold it for a 15-9 win.
Senior Kristen Macy (Edmond, OK/Edmond Memorial HS) led the Saints with 17 kills while also providing 22 digs, and 8 service aces. Freshman Outside Hitter Tiera Misuraca (Mustang, OK/Mustang HS) provided 12 kills of her own for Randall. The Saints got excellent play from their two Sophomore Setters Erika Styne (Arlington, TX/Mansfield Lake Ridge HS) and Lynsey Moniz (Claremore, OK/Claremore Sequoyah HS). Styne provided her hitters with 21 assists (her second most of the season), while also recording 8 digs, including a couple that were highlight reel worthy, and 4 kills. Moniz had 15 assists of her own along with 4 digs. Freshman Libero Maegan Plunk (Rowlett, TX/Lakeview Centennial HS) excelled in her defensive role with 14 digs, and also provided the only 4 other assists of the match for Randall.
